International Office Coordinator
Sarawak - Miri

Responsibilities:
 
This position will provide support services to the International Office and assist in overall activities planned by the department.
 
Main Responsibilities
 
  • Handle enquiries by international clients and update website information on issues related to the International Office.
  • Assess and issue Offer Letters for international applicants, liaise with new applicants and/or current students on entry procedure, and immigration related matters.
  • Log applications into Student One and EMS for Student Admissions, returning/follow up on any incomplete documentation.
  • Compile relevant forms and documents for processing of visa and related passes for current students and to follow up with Immigration Department on the applications status.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with the main enrolling areas at Bentley campus for Recognition of Prior Learning and assessment on case to case basis.
  • Manage filing system and assist the International Admission Officer in preparation of statistics for International Office.
  • Ensure that all international students have valid student pass/visa, passport and insurance coverage.
  • Provide assistance to the International Student Welfare Officer during Preparation Week, Airport Reception Services and dealing with emergency cases.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
Essential Requirements
 
  • Knowledge and understanding of academic processes and welfare issues involved in dealing with University students
  • A university/college Diploma or Degree and relevant work experience; however, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.  
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work independently and in a team.
  • Holds a valid driving licence and own transport.
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a tertiary education administration environment.
  •  Knowledge and understanding of academic processes and welfare issues involved in dealing with University students.
